THC taken via suppository vaginally or rectally (Relief and Explore) or by spray (Pleasure) falls under the same mindset of topical absorption with cannabis. Delta-9 THC (the psychoactive component of THC) does not get absorbed this way, whereas THC-hemisuccinate is absorbed; this gives all the same medical properties but due to the nature of the isomer is non-psychoactive.
Another process that plays a role in this is the diminished first pass metabolism as it does not get metabolized in the liver such as with edibles. In our patient trials, the amount of THC and CBD we use in our products were shown to be the most effective and users reported no psychotropic high.
Therefore, if you use any FORIA product topically and follow our directions for use, you will not feel the "head high" that is felt when eating or smoking THC. If you eat any of the products, you are now consuming the THC and will experience the psychotropic high associated with edibles.
We do not encourage you to eat the products because of the high levels of THC in each of them even though it is safe to consume. If you happen to get a little while doing oral, for example, this is fine. However, if you drink the bottle or eat multiple suppositories this could result in you being high for much longer than wanted. Again, we do not recommend this type of consumption.
